All Stretch Goals Unlocked and the Final Hours Begin

Hey everyone!

How you all had a great weekend! We have officially surpassed $145,000 and unlocked the Cryptid Quest Deck. All backers, Digital Tier and Above, now receive this PDF deck that adds 50 cryptid themed side quest prompts FREE with your pledge. Each prompt is designed to jump-start a story, kick off a session, or hand your players a new mystery at a moment’s notice. Thank you all for the incredible support as we head into the final hours of the campaign.

Less Than 70 Hours Left!

We are now in the final days of the campaign. If you have been waiting to back or upgrade your pledge, this is the last chance before everything closes. With the number of stretch goals unlocked, the amount of content included in the book has grown far beyond what we originally planned, and we could not have done that without your support.

Thank you to everyone who has shared the project, commented, asked about their state’s cryptid, and helped push the Codex to where it is now.

Who’s That Cryptid! Results

In our last update, we asked you to vote on which creatures you wanted to see revealed next. The results are in, and the top picks were: The Squonk, Oklahoma Octopus, and the Pope Lick Monster!

What Comes Next?

We have now unlocked all of our stretch goals and passed 1000% funded, which is incredible! The Codex has grown far beyond its original scope, and that is entirely because of your support and energy throughout the campaign.

As we head into the final days we are focused on closing out the campaign strong and preparing for the post campaign production cycle. We will continue to answer comments and keep things moving as we count down the final hours.

If you have friends or players who enjoy folklore, cryptids, or monster heavy campaigns, now is the perfect time to send them the link before the project wraps up.

New Cryptids, New Add-Ons, and the Ultimate Collection Tier

Hey everyone!

We’ve officially crossed $125,000 with less than one week to go! That means the International Cryptids Expansion is unlocked, and the Cryptid Codex has gone global!

Thank you all for the continued support. This has been one of our biggest projects yet, and the momentum you’ve kept up through every stretch goal has been incredible. We've got so much to cover in this update!

International Cryptids Unlocked!

The International Cryptids Expansion adds five new monsters drawn from global folklore and legend. These creatures bring new origins and unique abilities that show the hunt for cryptids has no borders. We can’t wait to share which legends make the cut, but a few of the world’s most famous names may already be surfacing. 

Plus, as part of this unlock, we are opening three more Guest Cryptid Designer spots. You'll collaborate directly with the Dice Dungeons team to us develop a cryptid, possibly from your home state. Your ideas will help shape its concept, lore, and design direction, and your name will appear in the book credits as an official Guest Designer. The additional spots are available now as a new pledge tier.

New Add-Ons

Several new optional add-on items (requested by you!) are now available on Kickstarter or later in BackerKit.

Leather Journals

Two handcrafted journals are now available!

• The Adventurer’s Notebook. A classic brown leather notebook, perfect for session notes and monster sketches.
• Deluxe Mothman Journal. Red leather with a striking embossed Mothman design.

Printed Adventure Modules

By request, both of our adventure modules, The Hunt and The Devil of the Pines, are now available as physical add-ons. Add them through Kickstarter now, or pick them up in BackerKit after the campaign ends.

New Pledge Tier: The Ultimate Collection

We have added a new Ultimate Collection pledge tier for those who want the complete Cryptid Codex experience.

This tier includes everything from the Deluxe Collection, which contains the hardcover and PDF of P.T. LaMarck’s Cryptid Codex, the full 7-piece Cryptid Moon glass and stone dice set, and all digital add-ons (map pack, art prints, VTT token pack, and The Hunt adventure).

And it includes the newly added printed adventure modules (The Hunt and The Devil of the Pines) and both leather journals (The Adventurer’s Notebook and the Deluxe Mothman Journal).

If you’ve been waiting for the all-in option, this is it. Upgrade your pledge now to the Ultimate Collection and get everything the campaign has to offer in one bundle.

Hey everyone!

We’ve officially crossed $100,000 what an incredible milestone! Your support has helped us unlock one of our biggest stretch goals yet: the Devil of the Pines Adventure Module (PDF).

The Devil of the Pines Has Been Unleashed

Every backer at the PDF tier or higher will now receive this new one-shot adventure for free.

In this 5e module, players will hunt the Jersey Devil through the mist-shrouded Pine Barrens, guided by P.T. LaMarck himself. You’ll uncover the creature’s dark origins, explore its cursed forest, and decide how your table chooses to take on the iconic cryptid.

Another free upgrade added to the pile! The list of bonuses keeps growing with every milestone.

What’s Next?

The hunt continues! With The Devil of the Pines unlocked, we’re setting our sights on the next two goals; both expanding the world of the Codex in exciting new ways.

  Unlocks five new monsters drawn from global folklore and legend, expanding the Cryptid Codex beyond the borders of the United States. (And we'll open up some more guest designer spots!)
• $150,000 - Cryptid Quest Deck (PDF)
  Adds a 50-card Quest Deck PDF filled with cryptid-themed hooks and story prompts. Each card offers a quick side quest that can drop right into your campaign. If you aren't familiar with our Quest Decks line, these are perfect for notice boards, quick downtime quest, or jumpstarting a new adventure.

We’ve also got a few more things in the works behind the scenes, including new add-ons and some surprises we’ll be revealing soon. The community around this project has been amazing to see grow, and we can’t thank you enough for sharing, commenting, and helping us bring these legends to life.

A Wild Weekend and a New Stretch Goal

Hey everyone!

Hope you all had a great Halloween weekend! Since our last update, we’ve had a huge surge of support. We blew past the $65,000 stretch goal, officially unlocking Versatile Lairs, and quickly climbed past 1,000 backers. And we are now sitting at over $80,000 raised!

Thank you all for keeping this momentum going. Every new backer helps us expand what P.T. LaMarck’s Cryptid Codex can become.

Versatile Lairs Unlocked

With this goal unlocked, the Codex will now include a full section of Versatile Lairs. These are modular monster lairs that can pair with any cryptid. Each lair is designed to heighten a creature’s presence, turning an encounter into something memorable and deeply atmospheric. 

We are excited to include many recognizable U.S. locations, including the misty Pine Barrens, Northwest forests, and endless underground caverns. Adding a lair to a creature typically increases its threat. A cryptid in its place of power may become significantly more dangerous depending on which lair actions you choose to use!

Our next stretch goal is a big one! At $100,000, EVERY backer with a PDF pledge or higher will receive a FREE bonus adventure: The Devil of the Pines.

In this 5e module, made exclusively for backers of Cryptid Codex, your players will investigate the legendary Jersey Devil through the mist-shrouded Pine Barrens, guided by P.T. LaMarck himself. It’s Halloween, and the timing couldn’t be better! We’re just shy of the $65,000 stretch goal, and that means Versatile Lairs is about to unlock! With only a little more ground to cover, we’ll soon be adding a whole new section to the book of modular lairs you can attach to any cryptid.

For our next update, we’re going to reveal three new pieces of art straight from the Codex. But this time, we want you to help decide which ones appear first.
